The Waitlist Problem
Autistic Wings is something new. Something that has never been done before. When we first started in September of 2024, no one showed up. They didn’t know what to think about an autistic dance studio founded by a 12 years old autistic tap dancer. Then one by one, dancers started coming to Autistic Wings. A trickle at first. Suddenly, out of nowhere, our classes started filling up!
We’ve made the move to a new space! We’re bringing in volunteer teachers, paid staff, and interns. And we’re growning!
However, we need a system to bring new dancers into the studio. Hence, “The Waitlist”. At the moment, to make our life easier, all classes are waitlisted. Some because they are full. Others because we have found that talking with potential dancers helps us figure out where to best place them. Add to all of that the fact we like to keep dancers with other dancers like them. We don’t place Level 1 ASD dancers in the same class as Level 3 ASD dancers. We try to group dancers by their support needs.
Which is why we have “The Waitlist”. All dancers coming into the studio fill out our waitlist intake form. Our CEO will contact you shortly and discuss what our current schedule is, and where your dancer fits best.
If you are interested in joining our little quirky dance family, please fill out the waitlist intake form below.
